Katibat al Tawhid wal Jihad was created by a Kyrgyz terrorist Sirajiddin Mukhtarov known as Abu Salah in 2013 in northern Syria.

The members of this terrorist group are mainly from Central Asia’s militants (Uzbeks, Uyghurs, Kyrgyz, Tajiks) with the majority of Uzbek forces.

According to available information, this Al Qaeda affiliated group has about 500 members in the Syrian Idlib, and is one of the best foreign forces in Syria and is one of the main ally of Tahrir al-Sham(former Al Nurah Front, AlQaeda branch in Syria).

Currently, an Uzbek terrorist known as Abdul Aziz leading the group.
